- Stand up with a smile. Don’t give the world a chance to tell you how the day is going to turn out - think positive and tell it what kind of a day you plan to make today.
- Stick with the truth. Keeping track of lies is hard work and too much effort, not to mention the embarrassment when you are caught out.
- Have a dream. Having something on the other side of each problem and challenge you face always makes it easier to deal with what life throws at you.
- Get involved and do some good. Whether you help out at a charity or visit sick people in hospital - just do something to make this world a better place. You will be amazed at how “good” your life begins to look once you see all the problems other people have to face.
- Take small steps. There is nothing wrong with wanting to conquer the world - just do it one step at a time.
- Start early. If you make your bed when you get up your mom will not get a chance to nag about it and if you begin to study a month before the exam, there will be no late night cramming sessions.
- Find your groove. Decide what you stand for in life and then wow the world with who you are.
- Be street smart. Use your intuition, listen to your gut and stay away from anything you have doubts about - especially if it can hurt you or your future.
- Don’t give up. Computers and TV’s have escape and exit buttons - people don’t. Why? Because none of us were designed to give up.
- Eat smart. It is not a sin to eat junk food or chocolates, but it is stupid not to eat enough fruit, vegetables and all the other healthy stuff as well.
- Be kind. You may not be able to stop people from being jerks, but if you are kind, friendly and likeable they will have less reason to be “jerky” with you.
- Refeul and refocus regularly. Whether you spend time in nature, have quiet time with God or just mellow out, do remember to get rid of your stress.
- Learn how to brake. Take control and don’t allow your mouth, emotions or hormones to run away with you. Life does not have an “undo” or “rewind” button. So, learn how to break before you do or say anything stupid.
