Showing you mom that you love her

March 31, 2026

It may not always look like it, but moms do want, and need, to be loved. Yes, they like to get a hug and hear you say it, but it is your deeds that will speak the loudest.

Here are some things you can do to show your mom how much you really love her:

  1. Offer to help before she asks.
  2. Do not fuss when she wants to hug you.
  3. Don’t let her ask you twice to do something.
  4. When you go to the shop, ask if you can get her something.
  5. Replace the toilet roll that is nearly done with a new one.
  6. Help with the laundry or put it away when it has been ironed.
  7. Keep the peace between your brothers / sisters and yourself.
  8. Give her a night off by making dinner or doing the dishes.
  9. Prepare a bubble bath for her or place some sweets on her pillow.
  10. (Just make sure she can take the bath when you prepare it.)
  11. Pick up and put away your stuff so she does not have to.
  12. Get dad to buy her some flowers.
  13. Moms who do not feel they have support from their family are more likely to be unhappy or become ill than those who do get support.

Also, moms usually work 15 hours more a week than dads. Its true. You find it hard to believe? Then check it out. See how much time she spends on laundry, cooking, picking up after everybody, bringing dad a beer because he is too lazy to go and get it himself etc etc etc. And she still manages to do all this with a smile after a hard day’s work. (Maybe, instead of moaning, you must try the smiling thing next time she asks you to do something.)
