What is Confidentiality?

Your commitment to keep something confidential, meaning you agree not to share with anybody (including AI) any personal, private, sensitive or “secret” information (including photos) someone shared with you, especially when that person asked you not to share the information or there is a chance that sharing the information can hurt the person. The only exceptions are when the law expects you to reveal what you’ve learned (e.g., if a friend tells you her dad is molesting her, you must report it), when the information can place others in danger (e.g., a guy in your class tells you he got a pistol because he wants to kill members of another gang) or when that person is in danger (e.g., a close friend begins to talk about how easy it is to commit suicide).
